Were you at the Official Kick off Party for the Denver 2016 Parade of homes was last night?
It was an event to be remembered! The event was hosted by Jackson Design Build in collaboration with Milgard Windows and Doors, Chase and Xssentials. It was highlighted by a wine tasting event lead by professional level 3 sommeliers.
The event showcased the “New Idea Home”Built by Jackson Design Build and designed and engineered by Denver Architect Guy Nichols of Nexus Architecture, the home incorporates products, services and ideas from some of the home building industry’s leading manufacturers and thought leaders. It provides a wealth of ideas to those who want to better understand what the home building industry has to provide regarding “accessible ready”.
What does "Accessible Ready" mean? It starts off with a stairless entry. A slight slope to the front door is the first hint at the possibilities of this accessible home (fairly smart, given Colorado's large number of aging baby boomers). With wide staircases and doorways and a dedicated location for an elevator, the home was built with future accessibility adjustments in mind.
The "New Idea Home" can be found in Denver’s Cory-Merrill neighborhood: 1606 South Cook Street, Denver, CO

"We worked with Karen Venier for a relatively short time for a good reason: our home sold at full price within hours of hitting the market! While it’s true that the Denver housing market is “hot,” credit for the speed and ease of our transaction belongs to Karen. She was great to work with, giving us perfect advice about readying our home for sale and then expertly guiding us from offer to close. Along the way, we came to appreciate Karen for her skillful blend of professionalism and personal touches – like dropping off our favorite beverages during a particularly stressful time in our move or shoveling our driveway in subzero temps after we’d left the state (way beyond the call of duty!). Now that we’ve relocated to Wisconsin, we keep saying that we wish Karen could be our buyer’s agent here. Since that’s not possible, we’ll shout her name loudly to whoever might be looking for a home in the Denver area.
Thanks for the great work, Karen!
