The Presidential Debate being held at the University of Denver is once again putting Denver, CO in the national spotlight. The Denver area is abuzz with who’s who in town for the first debate of the 2012 Presidential Race. Whether you are voting for President Obama, Mitt Romney, another candidate or not voting at all this is a big deal for Denver and for Colorado.
Colorado has been a hot bed for Obama and Romney political rally stops. Colorado is very much a tossup state and both candidates know that. Several election cycles ago Colorado was just a stop for the candidates to refuel their planes. We didn’t get much attention and were an oversight by most. Many say whoever wins Colorado wins the election.
If you are from Colorado it really doesn't matter who wins the Presidential Debate. The local residents and the University of Denver wins with being in the national spotlight. It is incredible exposure for this great state.
If you live in Denver you need to be aware of the traffic changes that will be occurring with the Debate at the University of Denver. Interstate 25 will be closed for a six mile stretch from Hampden to Santa Fe in both directions from 5 – 10 pm. University will also be closed from Evans Avenue to Louisiana Blvd. Alternate routes are highly advised and for the latest traffic updates you can go to www.coloradodot.info as some of these detours are subject to change.
